The schools focus mainly on academics and celebrating festivals can give an opportunity to the students to bond with each other and have fun. It also helps to bring the students closer to the staff and build peer relationships. It makes everyone feel like a family.

According to a report, celebrating Indian festivals in the schools leads to a significant rise in the overall growth. The students get to learn about the cultural differences and learn to co-exist with the other students. They will develop tolerance and communication skills and will learn to interact with the students from other communities.

Some of the schools also celebrate festivals like Holi, Raksha bandhan, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Also yoga day and pollution control day are celebrated to teach the students about social awareness and help save the environment.

Celebrating the festivals gives the students an opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities. On these days the schools organise activities like poem recitation, song, dance, stage acting and more. Usually these activities are held in front of parents and grandparents making them feel happy.

When students participate in such activities it will boost their self-esteem as they get accustomed to applause. They will return home with limitless joy.
